As the audience erupted in cheers at the mere mention of Mirzapur, Ali Fazal teased what’s next for the highly anticipated Mirzapur: The Film currently in development. “The film will feature not just me, but also Divyenndu, Pankaj Tripathy, and Abhishek Banerjee,” he announced. He was questioned about how the movie would resurrect characters like Munna Bhaiyaa and Compounder. These characters met their demise in the series’ three-season run. Ali explained, “It’s like going back to the beginning and retelling the story. So they’re all back. Once you see me cut my hair and bulk up, you’ll know I’m back on the Mirzapur set.”

Richa then playfully remarked, “Mirzapur was born from the belly of Gangs of Wasseypur,” eliciting laughter from the crowd. Reflecting on her time working on Gangs of Wasseypur, Richa admitted, “I had no idea that Anurag Kashyap’s duology would achieve such monumental success. It’s a cult film now. But back when we were making it, we had no inkling it would become a phenomenon…”
